MultiControl Firmware Update 11.08.2023
============================

This document describes how to perform a firmware update on a Micro-, Mini-,
Midi- or MultiControl system.

 1. First create backup of the MultiControl system (backup all files on the
control unit using a FTP program)
This prevents data loss in the event of technical problems.

 2. Transfer the new firmware (NLSRxxxx.img + NLSRxxxx.chk) onto an USB flash drive.

 3. Turn system into charge operation.

 4. Insert the USB flash drive into USB-Port 1 of the MultiControl.

 5. Go to the menu entry "installation/service/firmware update.
Choose USB-1 as source and confirm update.

 6. The control unit will restart.

 7. In the boot screen the new firmware version
is displayed (BOOTING SW a.b.c (xxx) HW yy).

 8. Remove the USB flash drive.

1. Transfer the software to be installed to a USB stick (NLSRxxxx.img + NLSRxxxx.chk).

2. Make a copy of the two files (NLSRxxxx.img + NLSRxxxx.chk) and rename them to a higher software ID than the installed software.
The original files must be preserved.
E.g.: - Software identifier installed on system = NLSR1400.xxx
      - Desired version on the system = NLSR1379.xxx
      - Files on USB stick: NLSR1379.img, NLSR1379.chk + NLSR1401.img, NLSR1401.chk (1401 = copy of 1379)

3. Proceed as with an update
